Operation Blue Ribbon is a City-wide grassroots effort developed by several neighborhood leaders to provide local support for the City of Phoenix's Police Department. By tying ribbons around trees, the goal is to show gratitude to the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our neighborhoods safe.
North Central is participating because we work very closely with many of the City of Phoenix's departments ~ Police, Fire, Planning and Development and Neighborhood Services ~ all in joint efforts to keep our neighborhood clean, crime-free and one of the best places to live in the Valley.
So for the next several weeks, you will see blue ribbons all over the City. We hope as police patrol through North Central and other areas, they notice the blue ribbons as a message of appreciation.
Our North Central Phoenix Homeowners Association is grateful to the Police Department for the following:
Being the recipient of the City of Phoenix Police Department Blockwatch Neighborhood Grant for the last 4 years.
Police officers doing presentations in schools to educate our children on Stranger Danger and personal safety
Police officers conducting Bike Safety courses and distributing free helmets to children
Phoenix PD hosting a child's car seat check and Vehicle Theft ID prevention at the Uptown Farmers Market
Their presence and availability to discuss neighborhood concerns at our NCPHA Annual Meeting
Hosting Coffee with a Cop
Distributing gift cards that our neighborhood has gathered and sharing them with those in need
The Community Action Officers providing their help and availability as a resource to our neighborhood
If you would like to place blue ribbons on your property to help show support, please contact us at info@ncpha.org. We do have a limited supply of ribbon left over and we are happy to share.
